The Executive Committee (2011-2012) of Nepalese Society in Trondheim, led by Amar Bahadur Singh (President) with other six members, Indra Paneru (Secretary), Pujan Bajracharya (Treasurer), Suraj Budhathoki (member), Sonik Shrestha (member), Reeta Kafle (member) and Santos Khanal (member) initiated the NeST Campaign for Education and Puskar Magar, a physically challenged student was awarded with about one hundred thousand Nepalese rupees.

NeST's Scholarship to Magar
KATHMANDU: Even a small support to people in need can create positive difference in their life. And the help provided by Nepalese Society in Trondheim (NeST), Norway to Pushkar Gharti Magar is definitely going to support him in his higher education.

Under its project ‘NeST Campaign for Education’, NeST has granted fund to Magar, a student from an NGO — Disabled New life Centre.

Magar, who completed his SLC in 2011, and is currently learning animation in Maya Academy is keen to pursue his higher education at Srijana College of Fine Arts.

And the project aims to support Magar to pursue his intermediate level education in the college through this funding as scholarship.

An event was held at Carribbean College, Jawalakhel, by Rotaract Club of Kupondole, on September 22 to felicitate Magar with the scholarship.

Arjun Basnet, representative of NeST presented the scholarship to Magar.

The event was initiated by Rotaractor Sonik Shrestha, who is also the member of NeST, and co-ordinator of Rotaract club of Kupondole.

The project was launched by NeST with an aim to provide financial support to physically challenged students living in Nepal.

Meanwhile, Binamra Karmacharya, President of Rotaract Club of Kupondole on behalf of all the members expressed that it was an honour to be a part of the commendable deed. He also acknowledged NeST for their support by handing over a letter of appreciation to Basnet.
